This December, CODA will gift music lovers of Toronto 9 amazing shows just in time for the holidays. On December 5th, Bulgarian export KiNK, will kick off the month with an unique live set, while British producer and the wizard himself – Damian Lazarus returns on December 7th with some tricks up his sleeve. The following weekend Detroit Love is in the house, with Carl Craig, Stacey Pullen and Wajeed on December 13th, followed by Italian Techno producer Ilario Alicante on the 14th. Notorious Berghain resident Ben Klock takes on the decks December 20th, and a stacked weekend begins with a special back-to-back set on boxing day, featuring the euphoric sounds of YokoO and Matthew Dekay. The queen of techno, Nicole Moudaber permeates the dance floor on the 27th, and the ever notorious Sasha will take us on a musical journey on December 28th. To close out 2019, CODA invites you to ring in 2020 with an intimate back-to-back 8 hour marathon set, from Toronto’s very own Carlo Lio and Nathan Barato as they perform as The Roaches.

Thursday, December 5 – KiNK [live]
Bulgarian artist KiNK has become one of house music’s most in demand producers and remixers: his tracks easily stand out in any club night and they are second to none in the most competitive environment, electronic music has ever seen. His abilities in finding the ‘sweet spot’ of new machines and even of sounds considered ‘classic’ and to reshape them into totally different beasts, would be totally enough to justify the phenomenon.

Toronto will be getting an authentic taste of Detroit’s legendary underground parties with a special showcase featuring the talents of Carl Craig, Stacey Pullen and Wajeed. Carl Craig is described as a creative visionary, a groundbreaking electronic music icon, an inspirational artist, an esteemed Grammy-nominated composer, a world-class DJ and an ambassador for his native Detroit. Stacey Pullen is an innovator from the second wave of Detroit techno, still continuing to produce his characteristic atmosphere laden electronic sound, Stacey Pullen compounds his reputation as a producer with that of being one of the world’s most in demand DJs. Lastly, hailing from Conant Gardens, Detroit – Waajeed’s productions through the years have been known as both inventive and genre-defying.

Friday, December 20 – Ben Klock
A fixture in Resident Advisor’s top-10 DJs for the best part of a decade, Ben Klock needs little introduction. Having become a Berghain resident in 2005, he has since established himself at the forefront of Berlin’s modern techno movement, an ever-present symbol of the city’s vast musical landscape. Those who have witnessed him perform will note not only the diversity in his track selection, but also his ability to create a room rather than just play to it.

Thursday, December 26 – YokoO B2B Matthew Dekay

A special back-to-back set will take place at CODA featuring the talents of YokoO and Matthew Dekay. YokoO is no stranger to house music in all its deepest forms. A studio head in the true sense of the word, he spends much of his time pondering basslines and warm synth riffs that heat up dancefloors the world over. Matthew Dekay, Dutch composer and DJ has pushed the boundaries of electronic music for nearly two decades. Dekay’s DJ sets are instantly recognizable by his distinct signature “groove” where he simultaneously blends multiple tracks, creating a hypnotic composition that captivates the dance floor.
