Review: Nixxie ‘Hollow Scene’ inc. The Mekanism Remix (MINDGAME)

Greek artist Nixxie makes big moves here with a fresh new EP pan Birds Of Mind’s label MINDGAME Records. The always on fire The Mekanism steps up with a remix.

Hollow Scene (Original Mix) is a nice zoned out roller with gorgeous pads stretching out into the night sky and spine tingling synths adding real soul to the rolling beats. Dala ups the ante with some heavier drums but still the same depth. The percussion is worldly and nicely sprinkled over the top for a superb dreamy but dynamic groove. The Mekanism’s remix is lush, with nice organic instrumentals and rich strings over a loose limbed and funky deep house beat.

These are three tasteful tunes for good times.
