Brooklyn’s Razor-N-Tape have been knocking hot disco edits out of the park since 2012. Their Reserve imprint was later created as an outlet for more housey content, but it’s evolved to encompass varied genres and is RNT’s primary channel for new original music.  With remixed releases by live bands like Jungle Fire and BaianaSystem, there’s a ton of original stuff on the schedule well into 2022 for the Reserve imprint.

Next up on RNT Reserve is Felipe Gordon, based in Colombia’s capital Bogotaì, Felipe is a renaissance man. The producer, multi-instrumentalist, DJ and label head is nothing short of a phenomenon, effortlessly fusing complex sound combinations from jazz samples to flowing pianos and acid bass lines into hugely exciting and unique house cuts.  It’s a sound which comes together perfectly to create tracks which have been moving waves worldwide over the last couple of years. Felipe has released a string of well regarded tracks and worked on remixes for Shall Not Fade, Toy Tonics, Heist Recordings, Razor-N-Tape and his own Noìmada Records.

On the ‘Clásico EP’ the prolific Colombian producer returns to RNT to deliver his first offering in a two-EP and album project series. This record kicks off with the swingy ‘Strings of the Afterlife’, evoking classic Chez-N-Trent vibes and moves to the sultry emotive tones of ‘The Fall of A Withered Empire’.  On the flip, Felipe takes us into high gear with the hypnotic looped synth groove and relentless beats of the title cut ‘Clásico’, then lets us down easy with the jazzy lilt of ‘Julia y Luis’.  This is a truly standout EP, even for Felipe Gordon who delivers quality time and time again.
