Mitch DodgeBrooklyn based outfit Short Circuit bring in fresh UK talent to the label in the form of Brendan James, whose ‘Energy EP’ leads from the front foot and all the way to the dance floor.
Brendan James originates from the south west UK with strong roots within the house and techno scene. The two years away from the clubs, gave him the time to hone his productions skills to the max and since dance floors have returns his demos, edits and promo’s have gone on to appear in the sets of the scenes leading artists like Wheats, Alisha, Dennis Cruz, Waff, Rich NxT, Detlef, Ben Sterling, and more.
His first official release sees him feature on Jeff Sorkowitz’ up and coming Short Circuit imprint and Brendan does not disappoint. The lead and title track of the EP is the aptly named ‘Energy’, a deep bassline driven track, with a low down dirty organ providing the melodic groove, and the power that will have dancers getting down.
On the flip side is ‘Kontakt’ where he delivers a deep tech roller style, which will find it homes in many an afterhours set with its deep and low sounding sonics suiting those moments where you want to enjoy an effortless rolling journey without all the intensity of a peak time banger.
