Mitch DodgeJeff Sorkowitz welcomes esteemed Spanish artist, Alvaro AM, to his burgeoning Short Circuit imprint as he lets the Spaniard ‘Take Control’ with his latest powerhouse EP.
Alvaro AM has been producing for many years, and the young Madrileño, has been carving out his place in the minimal deep tech and tech house scene through his releases on industry leading labels such as Solid Grooves, Hottrax, Desolat, Revival NYC and more. His has been supported by a who’s who in the electronic music world, including Michael Bibi, Jamie Jones, Dennis Cruz, Loco Dice, Matador and many more, and Short Circuit are very happy to welcome him to the label.
For his first release on Short Circuit, Alvaro AM drops ‘ Take Control’, a potent two track EP which comes complete with a remix from label owner Sorkowitz himself. Kicking things off with the aptly named lead and title track ‘Take Control’, a dynamic track with plenty of bounce to its bass and shake to its hi’s, will get you taking control of the dance floor where you will be throwing your best shapes.
Next up is ‘Close To Me’ a stripped back, tripped out, low slung minimal feel hooks you in from the get-go. The track progresses like a sidewinder, weaving in and out of its loop based groove. A vocal polishes this track off and this is one for when things are getting serious and naughty.
To finish off this compelling EP, we have the Jeff Sorkowitz remix of ‘Close To Me’, where he retains many of the original mix’s samples, however he works them seamlessly into an incessant groove and give this a heavy bass rolling feel, creating a track that is perfect for getting the dance floor, and delivers the perfect way to finish off his great EP.
