French house imposter L’Etranger presents his latest four-track EP For The Floor: an impeccable homage to disco-tinged, filtered house music in all its uplifting technicolour glory.

L’Etranger – translated to “The Outsider” – relates to Ben Thomas’ musical approaches as an Englishman producing French inspired house music. His latest EP For The Floor is a captivating four-track EP that blends filtered French house with disco samples, resulting in an energetic and unpredictable musical journey.

With single Sagittarius out now, we asked him to put together a list of some of his favourite remixes of all time.

We In Music – Now That Love Has Gone (Fafa Monteco Remix)

We In Music was a fairly short-lived project from Raw Man and Guy-Man of Daft Punk’s younger brother Play Paul. Fafa Monteco really delivers on this remix. I love the light carefree nature he gives the original composition.

Louise – All That Matters (DJ Tonka Mix)

Any that knows me knows I’m a huge Tonka head. When it comens to remixes he always kills it. The way he switches it up from Speed Garage to old skool Piano House for Louise Redknapp is outstanding. The sheer elation in those Piano chords is like nothing else!

Cameron Traxxx – Thinkin About U (dJJ Remix)

dJJ is a mate of mine. I’ve been a huge fan of his work since he released as Vanguard. His dJJ alias is unlike anything I’ve ever heard. His production style is completely unique. This remix is really tactile for me. I love overall the crunchiness of the record yet the filter sweeps are so clean and musical.

Zhané – Hey Mr DJ (DJ Jayhood Remix)

I discovered Jersey Club music just over 10 years ago through Sam Tiba’s mixtapes. My all-time favourite Jersey Club producer and artist is easily DJ Jayhood and I’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with him twice now. Not only is he an amazing lyricist, songwriter and performer but his production chops are god-like.

Beyonce – Broken Hearted Girl (Alan Braxe Dub Remix)

This is one of my favourite Alan Braxe remixes. I love the way he has completely transformed the original and made it his own. Those descending chords and that bass line are pure Braxe.

L’Étranger – Feel The Same (Dreamtrak Remix)

I met Oli when we both remixed Napoleon IIIrd in 2011. Oli is one of my favourite writer/producers and I was lucky enough to get a remix from him in 2021. His sound design is always outstanding and I love when he draws on his acid and rave influences when he makes club tracks.

Nadiya – Tous Ces Mots (SebastiAn Remix)

SebastiAn is one of my all time favourite producers and was a huge influence on my early 2010s electro-house production style. I love this era of his cut-up, super compressed sound design. This remix still sounds fresh to me.

Surkin – White Knight Two (Jackson & His Computer Band Remix)

I had the pleasure of performing on the same bill as Jackson at Koko in 2016. This is less of a remix and more of a complete reimagination of Surkin’s “White Knight Two” in classic Jackson glitchy fashion.

Knight One – Hollow (Les Loups Remix)

I was so happy when my friends Les Loups and Knight One linked up on this remix. Poindexter’s vocals are the perfect accompaniment to this laid-back funky arrangement of the piece.

Sébastien Tellier – Comment revoir Oursinet ? (Darius Remix)

I’ve always loved Darius’ work ever since he was a duo in Cherokee. I actually performed in Lyon with Terence and Dorian back in 2012. This is an incredible remix where two French legends meet. What a journey!
