Beyonders; beyond who we are, where we are, beyond form, constraints, stigmas, beyond individual sounds, beyond genres. This ethos allows expression that has no bounds.
Beyonders was the brainchild of Jason and Mark Goodings of 90’s pioneering breaks and drum and bass duo Hidden Agenda. The pair caught the attention of several pioneers in the mid 90’s with their unique production style; fusing Jazz & Funk rythms within the emerging breakbeat, drum & bass context.
J1Mi aka James Hadfield is one of the key protagonist and a leading character of the Beyonders Music Collective. Over the last couple of decades, James has released solo on labels such as To Rack And Ruin, MeMeMe, Not An Animal and Phonica as well as co-producing releases on labels such as Futureboogie, Leng, Cooperation, Metalheadz-Headstate and Reinforced.
Nøs has been making music for 30 years: as one half of pioneering drum and bass outfit Hidden Agenda with brother Mark, releasing on Metalheadz, Reinforced and Fabio’s Creative Source, pushing the boundaries of the genre in those early days; through the formation of Dispatch Recordings, before passing the torch to Ant TC1; through Mark’s seminal Zest recordings, for those that know; through solo releases for Defunked, A-Side’s Eastside and more for Headz and Reinforced; through the ‘Whatever Happened to…’ album on glorious Swiss imprint Straight Ahead; and through, and through….
