Italy’s own TWENTY SIX and Davide T talk collaboration, upcoming tour dates, and their new single ‘Perfectita’.
1 – How did you two first connect? Was there a specific moment or gig in Italy where you realised your production styles would mesh perfectly?
As all things happen in this world, we first connected through music. We started sending promos to each other, and one day we decided to meet in the studio to make some tracks together, as we live nearby.
2 – “Perfectita” has an incredibly fiery Latin vocal. How did you source or record this particular vocal sample, and how did it dictate the energy of the final track?
We tried to find something very catchy for vocals, since the groove originally had a different vocal sample, so we went with something energetic. We loved the result and the impact on the dance floor
3 – Electronic music thrives on live experimentation. Did either of you test early, unreleased versions of “Perfectita” on crowds at massive venues like Hi Ibiza or Tomorrowland to see how the dancefloor would react?
Yes! We played the track a lot over the last year, and after our road tests, Nicole and other DJs approved it, so we were super motivated to send it out and get it signed on Nicole’s label.
4 – What is one studio habit you learned or picked up from each other while working on this single?
(Davide Speaking) TWENTY SIX probably has more of an artistic vibe; he takes things with heart and follows the flow. Meanwhile, I am the part of the order and all the boring things in the project, but someone has to do it!
5 – “Perfectita” is out via Nicole Moudaber’s MoodCollective. How does it feel to have your music backed by an industry titan like Nicole, and how do you feel the track fits into the label’s forward-thinking sonic ethos?
Releasing on a label of such a legend is an honour and a pleasure for us; we were really happy when she confirmed the release!
6 – Davide, you also have an upcoming follow-up on MoodCollective collaborating with TWOLATE on “The Flow”. How has this label environment fuelled your creative momentum this season?
Yes, of course, can’t wait for my release with TWOLATE, another track that I’m super proud of. Loved the releases on the label, so I tried to send as many tracks as possible to Nicole to show respect and maybe one day to release on her label, and that happened!
7 – If you had to pick one specific venue or festival stage in the world where “Perfectita” would serve as the absolute, definitive peak-time anthem, where would it be?
We think that track could work perfectly everywhere with the right energy on the dance floor. For me, Davide, Club Room at Hï would be the perfect spot.
8 – What can we expect next from each of you individually? Are there any upcoming solo projects, label debuts, or tour dates you can share with the Music Is 4 Lovers audience?
Soon we’ll play together in Milan at Manawa Experience in October. We can’t wait to play there together.
