German producers & DJ duo, Tomi & Kesh, have been making some serious headway in the Minimal/Deep Tech scene for the last few years. With their music being championed by the likes of Marco Carola, Stefano Noferini and many more, we decided to catch up with them about their latest release ‘Timeless Sound’ which dropped on Black Seven Music.

Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to join us. We’ve been friends for some time now, and we’ve been playing your tracks for a long time before that. It’s been good to watch you go from strength to strength over that time. What’s the driving force that keeps you guys heading towards your goals?

Hi, thanks for having us. We just love this music and everything that comes with it. This is our passion! Seeing our tracks being played all around the world, especially by some of the biggest names of the scene, is what motivates us…every single day!

Duo, Promoters, Label Owners. What’s your favourite aspect of what you do musically and why?

Creating and playing music is definitely our favorite part. There’s no better feeling than making people dance.

Tell us a little bit about the legend of Tomi&Kesh? How did it begin and how has it grown over the years?

We met at a local Basketball Team (Kesh was the Ball) and after the first shower together, we knew that we were a match! Jokes aside, we became friends quickly and started to perform as a duo in 2016.

Living, working and traveling together made us grow as a team. We complement each other very well. Tomi needs Kesh and Kesh needs Tomi.

Your latest release ‘Timeless Sound’ dropped a few weeks ago. How did this come about and what made you choose this label?

We’ve been playing BRODYR‘s tracks for a while and had an eye on their label from the beginning. We‘re really diggin the releases on the label and wanted to be part of it –  we’re really glad we made it happen with this EP!

You’ve teamed up with Santiago Bejarano for your Timeless Sound release, how did this collab first come about?

Santiago is one of our favorite producers at the moment. He constantly puts out good music and there was no doubt that we wanted to work with him. We‘re very happy with the tracks we made with him and there will definitely be more collabs with him in the future.

Remixes on ‘Timeless Sound’ come from BRODYR & Luke Welsh. Did you have any input on who provided the remixes and how do you think they turned out?

Both remixes are bombs! BRODYR‘s Version comes with lots of vibes and an amazing groove. We can’t wait to play this one at the next open air party! Luke‘s remix comes with more power, a bangin‘ minimal roller that could easily make it into Marco Carola‘s playlist. Well done boys!

Your own label, NoZzo is starting to turn heads and getting some serious support – not to mention some amazing charting places. Tell us a little about the label’s ethos and what it’s like running the imprint?

Thanks for the love! NoZzo Music is a platform for us to spread the style of music we love. Either if it’s Minimal or Tech House… as long as it grooves we’re happy 🙂

Of course the start of our own label brings new challenges for us, but it’s pretty exciting. From listening to demos, to setting up the final release, it’s definitely a lot of fun.

We‘re overwhelmed with the results and support of the first releases of NoZzo Music and we can‘t wait to show you what‘s coming next!

The scene is going through a really difficult stage in its life cycle at present. What are you doing to stay mentally upbeat and positive in your day to day?

We‘re spending lots of hours in the studio making new music and the label work keeps us busy as well.

Luckily, we also had the opportunity to play quite often in Romania during the Last 9 months which gave us a looooot of energy and motivation.

Outside of music, what do you like to do to relax?

Do you know our tracks “Wake & Bake“, “Roll It Up“ and “Puff Puff“?!… We like to do Yoga! Hahahaha

If you could pick any artist, any genre, past or present to collaborate with; who would it be and why?

If we had to pick one artist, it would definitely be Zlatnichi. His producing skills are out of this world and his grooves are a huge inspiration.

What one piece of advice would you give to aspiring artists right now?

Take your time, be patient, put in the work, try to be creative, stick to your sound and the most important: do it for fun! You will see progress and everything else will come.

Lastly, anything else you are excited to share with us?

We are very excited about our tour through North and South America starting this April. Also, we’re looking forward to sharing some exciting news soon about the upcoming NoZzo parties all over Europe.
