Fabio Bellanza debuts on Lee Foss’ South Of Saturn with ‘Trek’

Hi Fabio, thank you for joining us tell us a bit about yourself?

Hello and thanks to you. I was born in Terlizzi in 1999 and resident in Corato. From an early age, I was fascinated by big sound systems, where I participated as a spectator in many tuning car races. I started this journey from the age of 12 observing and working alongside small local DJs, from there I started my first evenings wandering around various lounge bars near my country, slowly building my artistic figure.

After 3 years I enter the world of music production, obtaining some small satisfaction over time. In 2020 I open my record label Bella Records releasing music for big underground artists such as Shaf Huse, Reblok, Chicks Luv Us, Jay de Lys, Arado and many others. In the last 2 years, I have churned out 2 very important releases on labels such as Cr2 Records, 303 Lovers and the latter South Of Saturn.

How has your upbringing in Corato, Italy influenced your sound?

Unfortunately, my city did not influence me on this, I was lucky to have one of the largest and most famous Italian discos like ‘Guendalina’ and other local clubs within walking distance of me, where very often I was present in almost all events studying and listening to every artist that the place proposed. From these evenings I have had a strong personal motivation that over time has led me to obtain good results.

Your latest release comes via Lee Foss’ label South Of Saturn, which welcomes the arrival of some fresh peak-time material – what was your inspiration for this two-track EP?

My inspiration for this EP was born mainly after listening to some artists like Michael Bibi at Guendalina, for the whole evening I was evaluating a different sound from the usual thinking and designing a mix between classic tech-house and other minimal sounds, experimenting, trying this in the studio, I churned out these two tracks called ‘Trek’ and getting great feedback from many international artists.

Anything else exciting coming up that you wish to share with us?

Yes, in 2022 a mini-tour in the U.S.A is expected, and other dates in Italy. I’m working on some very serious productions, ready to be released. My artistic figure is gradually taking shape and many requests have arrived from record labels and some Italian promoters.
