Marseille-based production duo Baja Frequencia announce new single ‘Hotchip’, taken from forthcoming tenth anniversary EPFast & Purrious due later this year. ‘Hotchip’ arrives 22nd September via French imprint, Chinese Man Records.

‘Hotchip’ is Baja Frequencia at the peak of their audacious powers. The perfect celebratory track for their tenth anniversary party, it’s a vibrant tour-de-force full of colourful retro computer game sounds,  wonked out big room leads and a seriously infectious beat. Paired with a visual that leans into the retro gaming energy, its fierce, fun energy sets the bar high for Fast & Purrious’s release later this year.

Baja Frequencia add:

“We wanted to create the EP’s sound differently from the way we used to work, so all the tracks on the record were largely composed on machines (digitakt, rc 505 , handsonic and pocket operator). “Hotchip” came about during jam sessions, with a melody reminiscent of 90s arcade games, underpinned by a rhythmic mix of breakbeat, afro house, baile funk and chiptune music. A tangy, bassy track with a hint of melancholy”

“Hotchip” is out now!
