Lightning in a Bottle has been one of my favorite festivals since I first stumbled upon it in 2011. Not just a music festival, but a lifestyle. The Do Lab has truly created something special with LIB, bringing together crazy young festivals goers, yogis, hippies, and even a large amount of families. Whether you’re there to party, there to do yoga, there to hear speakers expand your mind on anything from mediations to organic eating, or there to participate in workshops ranging from belly dancing to conscious breathing, it’s an underlying like minded consciousness among all that creates that unique, captivating, and inspiring energy. While we like to go for all of the above, while the exploration and adventures and yoga classes and workshops we definitely like to check out … it’s obvious that here at Music is 4 Lovers, our main passion and lust for going is for the music. With so many amazing acts, and such a range of music, it’s tough to decide who to check out, but here is the low down on our Top 10.

#10 Patricio

It was fate when the lure of tribal house beats and congo drums lured me into The Do Lab at Coachella in 2007 and I stumbled upon Patricio. It was this set of his that opened my world to the The Do Lab and subsequently LIB and for that I am forever grateful. A staple to The Do Lab family, Patricio’s sound ranges from tribal desert vibes to the happiest of house. An Argentinian import, his latin flavor is felt through his soulful music. Make sure not to miss this California favorite from 2:45 – 4 PM on Saturday at The Woogie.

#9 Christian Martin

It’s no new news that the Dirtybird Players have taken the music world by storm in the last year. The Dirtybird vibe of bangin booty bass is too fun to not love and creates a certain hyped energy among that crowd that just takes everyone to another level. Christian Martin is a key player in this fun loving family and is notorious for throwing down some of the dopest sets around. If you like loud, if you like fun, if you like booty, you do not want to miss this always amazing act. Catch Christian on The Woogie from 7:30 – 9 PM on Friday.

Francois K is the definition of OG. Delving into DJing back in the mid-70s, Francois K made his name in the underground club scene in New York in clubs such as Studio 54. He is widely considered one of the forefathers of house music and has been a constant and consistent staple in the scene ever since. With sets ranging from house to deep to tech to chill out and everything in between, one thing is certain, the man knows what he is doing. Pyschemagik is a UK duo, known for their sensational disco and psychedelic edits, obscenely vast record collections, beautiful production work and transcendent mixtape journeys. They are being heralded as a truly unique and positive presence in today’s music scene. Their indie dance / nu disco sound is the kind that puts a smile on your face and you can’t help but sway to. Eduardo Castillo is a staple in the California scene. Eduardo is a quadruple header as the owner of the notorious Pattern Bar in Downtown LA that serves as the go to spot for intimate nights among industry folk,  the creator of infamous intimate Voodoo parties that host some of the best DJs in the world to a small crowd of 100, the founder and curator of the new and insanely impressive Grand Park’s Sunday Sessions in Downtown LA, and last but certainly not least, a very talented DJ himself. If you’ve had the pleasure of experiencing one of Eduardo’s events, then you know that he is all about the ambience, and his music holds that same value. Catch Eduardo from 1-2PM on Saturday at The Woogie.

#5 Tim Green

Tim Green has been hot on our radar with his slew of amazing releases especially in the last year. Prepossessing the ability to effortlessly manoeuvre through the realms of house and techno, experimenting across the spectrum of electronic music, whether putting out reverberating minimal techno of Amnesia peak-time kind-of- measures, lush and warm deep house, or sprinkling some of that unmistakable Tim Green charm over productions of popular appeal, his work is stamped by ingenuity, fearlessness and fun. Catch him from 3:15 – 4:30 PM on Sunday at The Woogie.

#4 Thugfucker

Icelandic golden child in America and New York native just back from Europe, both Holmar and Greg have both dedicated themselves to the debaucherous worship of all good things that can happen in a dark crowded room with good lighting. Bringing together a wide variety of influences from house to minimal and disco to techno, first and foremost these guys bring the party to the party. This dangerous duo never fails to impress. Thugfucker is the white rabbit taking you for a trip down the rabbit hole. With entrancing dark and heavy beats, these guys will take you for a walk on the darker side. Get weird with Thugfucker from 7 – 8:45 PM on Saturday at The Woogie.

Acid Pauli has based his DJ career on gentle psychedelia and stylistic idiosyncrasies, from dizzying orchestral flourishes to rhythmic feints capable of bringing a heated crowd to a quick halt. Widely praised for his experimental and melodic psychedlic sound, his music is emotive and transportive through it’s melodies.
