Tom Flynn and Amp Fiddler have just put out what’s possibly the most unique piece of music on DIRTYBIRD in quite some time: “The Future.” It’s pure, unadulterated deep house — quite a far cry the recent norm of the label, which in past years has helped pioneer a bouncy new breed of tech house. “The Future” is sultry as ever, captivating ears with its warm low-end and stripped-down effectiveness. Amp Fiddler’s vocals tie the whole record together, making it feel like an instant and timeless classic made for afterhours listening.

Label boss Claude VonStroke perks things up in his re-work, and also goes a bit outside the box of his usual style. His interpretation sounds like house music straight from an elrow or Paradise party. Rattling percussion and filthy grooves make one want to lose themselves to the more peak-time appropriate piece.

Big ups to DIRTYBIRD for the experimentation; we hope to hear much more where this came from.
