This past Friday marked the return of Steve Darko to DIRTYBIRD with the release of his new EP That’s Hot. After making his label debut in May 2018, the DJ-producer has quickly became a favorite in the flock.

Known for his deep tones and futuristic sound, the Bostonian lines us up for a two-track venture to the dark side of DIRTYBIRD. Title track ‘That’s Hot’ toils with the legendary soundbite from socialite Paris Hilton as a blend of minimal and tech house influences materialize through sharp, cutting synths and blunt beats.

With extraterrestrial soundscapes and Uncle Kev’s chilling vocals, the Oonagi-assisted ‘I Miss Your Face’ drop us to trippy depths. The track channels a sinister energy through wailing eerie synths and thick acid distortion, stirring up an ominous mood on the dancefloor.

With a background in music software development at audio company Izotope, Darko’s keen ear and tech-savvy spirit make him a spark in the studio. The artist’s production prowess was recognized early on by label boss Claude VonStroke, who inspired the artist to sign a number of exclusive records and perform as direct support for the head honcho on an extensive USA run.
