With his Alterego album set to be released next month, Colombian-born electronic producer Sinego releases the nostalgic, Latin-infused single ‘Labios (La Noche)’- which celebrates his love for the rich culture of Ecuador.

On September 29th, Colombian music producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist Sinego will unveil his captivating single titled ‘Labios (La Noche)’– a heartfelt homage to Ecuadorian Boleros and the legendary Julio Jaramillo. This nostalgic track fuses the romantic essence of traditional Boleros with a modern Lo-Fi twist, offering listeners a taste of the rich culture of Ecuador. This single serves as a precursor to the artist’s highly anticipated debut two-part album, Alterego, which promises to redefine the boundaries of regional Latin genres and dance music. With influences and collaborators stemming from countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Peru, Chile, and his home country of Colombia- the project blends masterful electronic production, Sinego’s live instrumentation, and traditional Latin arrangements. The album’s two parts, “El Día” (The Day) and “La Noche” (The Night), span across twenty-two original tracks. The first part “El Día” is set to be released on October 27th with “La Noche” coming out in 2024.

Sinego, recognized for his innovative approach to Latin music within the electronic dance scene, draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Ecuadorian culture for ‘Labios (La Noche).’ The track sets the tone for the forthcoming album- capturing the essence of Ecuador’s musical heritage through the distinct rhythms and romantic melodies of Bolero. With low-fi-infused keys, masterful synth work, and tasteful vocal chops, ‘Labios’ showcases Sinego’s talent for songwriting and deep appreciation for the country’s vast cultural treasures.

When discussing the single, Sinego states, “Labios (La Noche) was the last track I finished from the album. It felt like a seamless process that just needed to get done to close a stage in my life. I felt prepared for it because after recording, mixing, and creating the visual assets for all of the previous tracks I learned a lot, which allowed me to implement all of the knowledge in this track. The drums were inspired by my favorite artists for nostalgia- DJ Seinfeld, Nicolas Jaar, Ross From Friends, etc. The chords and vocals by my childhood heroes from Latin America, Julio Jaramillo, Pedro Infante, and Trio Los Panchos. All artists that shaped the sounds of Baladas, Boleros, and more. For me, this is a track that brings the nostalgia of all of my travels in a way that makes me feel comfortable and lucky to have the life I have.”

Sinego’s forthcoming Alterego project is poised to be a trailblazing project for upcoming Latin producers in the electronic music landscape. With a mission to spotlight key talents and cultures across Latin America, each of the twenty-two tracks on the concept album explores countless regional genres, seamlessly integrating them with the producer’s staple house and techno production. Collaborators and remixers featured on the album include Moullinex, Xinobi, El Búho, PAUZA, Lucy Vives (daughter of Colombian pop icon Carlos Vives), Grammy-nominated Cuban vocalist Cucu Diamantes, and more. The project will coincide with a stunning documentary that will delve into the creative process of the project, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of Sinego’s travels across each country, and insight into the vast roster of collaborators- providing a next-level visual component typically unseen by the electronic industry.

Sinego has earned a well-deserved place among the leading figures in Latin-flavored dance music.
