Moeaike’s “Back To Dance” EP on Harabe was like so much music of recent times conceived in the pandemic lockdowns. Each of the two tunes tells its own story – one is about hope for the future and the other is about the desire to go back in time.
Back To Dance opens with flashes of bright melodies that bring hope. It is a track with uplifting energy and feel-good vibes as well as sleek drums. Tell Me was born after a meeting with Nemila, a vocalist keen to tell her own tale. It is a deeply affecting tune with progressive melodies, serene chords, and drums that sweep you off your feet.
These are two moving tunes for their own very different reasons.
