Moroccan producers Zakem and H.NOT collaborate on I Can’t Breathe, blending Afro house rhythms with emotive textures to reflect both artists’ commitment to innovative and engaging electronic music.
Zakem, co-founder of Avenoir Music, has been a key figure in Morocco’s electronic scene since 2015. His notable works include When We Meet, a remix of Shikiria by Enzo Siffredi & MoBlack, and Mors Medusae. Avenoir Music, established with Yescene, aims to showcase underground and unique musical styles.
Hailing from Tangier, H.NOT has gained recognition through his Views and Beats live sets, performed in various Moroccan locations. His collaborations include performances with DJ Chus, Moblack, Hyenah, Enzo Siffredi, FNX Omar, and Zakem. In 2023, H.NOT released Nakupenda with Zakem and Mobek, receiving support from artists like Arodes and Nicolas Sasson.
Avenoir Music, launched in early 2025 by Zakem and Yescene, is dedicated to deep, Afro, and melodic house. The label’s debut release, Letters From Layla by Yescene and StanLei, set the tone for its vision of electronic music that stirs memories, emotions, and movement.
