Ninetoes continues his run of fine form following the Squillace collaboration ‘Kuneh’, releasing a double header EP ’Shumba / Prove It’.
’Shumba’ lands as a rework of Thomas Mapfumo, aka The Lion Of Zimbabwe and musical legend, whose empowered vocal is complimented by signature Ninetoes precision and intricate guitar lines. ’Shumba’ is the first of its kind where we hear the living legend Mapfumo featuring on an electronic track , something which is “a real honour” for Ninetoes. ‘Prove It’ follows as a deeper melodic cut as soaring pads carry you through epic builds and rich soulful vocal samples, rounding off this two tracker and increasing the growing hype around what is to come.
