Mees Salomé completes his latest EP rollout on 12th May with the release of ‘Nova’, a new collaboration with Thysma landing via Lane 8’s revered imprint, This Never Happened. The release follows previous singles ‘Let It Be (Real)’ featuring Chris Howard and ‘Mindstate’ with Robby East, bringing together a three-track project that further cements Salomé’s place within the emotive end of melodic house and techno.
Hailing from the Netherlands, Mees Salomé has steadily built a reputation for crafting emotionally driven electronic music that balances cinematic atmosphere with club-focused energy. With releases on This Never Happened, Armada, Colorize alongside remixes for artists including Joris Voorn, Tinlicker and Röyksopp, his sound continues to resonate across wider melodic circles. Regular BBC Radio 1 support and a growing international following have further cemented his place as one of melodic house and techno’s most exciting names.
The EP opens with ‘Let It Be (Real)’, a warm and uplifting collaboration with renowned vocalist Chris Howard. Built around tender percussion, soft melodic textures and Howard’s airy topline, the track leans into Salomé’s more introspective songwriting instincts while maintaining a clear sense of dancefloor momentum.
Follow-up single ‘Mindstate’ sees Salomé join forces with fellow Dutch producer Robby East for a deeper, more hypnotic direction. Rolling drums, expansive synth work and subtle cinematic detail unfold gradually throughout the track, striking a balance between emotional depth and late-night club functionality.
Closing the project is ‘Nova’, a refined collaboration with Thysma that ties the EP together through expansive melodies, warm grooves and understated euphoria. The track slowly evolves through layered synth work and immersive atmospherics, capturing the widescreen melodic sound that has become synonymous with Salomé’s productions.
