At the end of November, Loew returned to Renaissance… Loew’s latest EP follows on his ‘2 Doves 1 Snowball’ EP which had been the label’s biggest sleeper hit of 2021 so far, as well as his remix for Argy alongside the likes of Rodriguez Jr. and Magit Cacoon on Argy’s recent ‘Interior Journey’ album remix project.

The ‘Strange Loop’ EP (out now here) further establishes the Northern Irishman as one of the most exciting prospects in electronica. To mark the EP and his burgeoning relationship with the iconic imprint, we asked Loew to pick out 10 of his top tracks from Renaissance’s back catalogue. Here’s what he picked!

10. Luzon – The Baggio track
Epic Tribal chants, what a groove on The Full Igorot mix

9. Origin – Refined Intricacy
Both tracks work on this release but always loved this one. Big driving Sasha style prog.

8. H-Two feat. Leah – Burnin’ fire (Hydrogen Rockers Remix)
This remix has that low level groove that prog of the time done so well.

7. Chris Cargo – Cityscape
My old mucker Chris doing what he does best. Deep grooves.

6. Science Dept. feat. Erire – Breathe (Lexicon Avenue Vocal Mix)
With Lexicon Avenue on the remix you can’t go wrong. Some seriously big stabs on this one.

5. Christian Smith and John Selway – Updraft
The arp on this just keeps building.

4. JSJ – Ghost of You
Deep groovy prog that always got the heads noddin.

3. Charlie May vs Sasha – Seal Clubbing
How could you go wrong. Still sounds fresh today.

2. Bt – Godspeed
One of my major influences. Light years ahead of everyone. The Hybrid mix also deserves a mention for it’s blistering breaks production. Great release.

1. Montero – Captain Hook
Where my Renaissance journey really took off. It still means a lot to me.
