LEGATO is back in 2024 – with an evolved sound and a brand new single Either Way landing ahead of an EP later this year.
James Stanley a.k.a LEGATO has carved a path as one of the freshest voices coming out of the UK house underground. His LEGATO project launched in 2019 with impactful releases on Eton Messy, Nightcolours, Anjunadeep and All Day I Dream seeing the artist amass 6m streams and regularly holding #1 on Beatport’s Melodic House and Organic House charts.
Now partnered with LabelWorx and with a new team around him, LEGATO is looking to make moves in 2024 and beyond, with new single Either Way a clear statement of intent as his sound evolves beyond his more straight up melodic house productions.
Either Way retains some of the key characteristics of previous LEGATO releases, while pushing his sonics forward in exhilarating new ways. The gorgeous melodies and ethereal tones remain, backed up with punchy, swung beats, a deep, groove-led bassline and highly evocative vocals; a vibey, summer house cut ripe for festivals and home listening alike.
“Either Way marks the start of a new LEGATO chapter. My sound’s naturally shifting into something more raw and expressive, but still connected to what I’ve released before and centred around emotion.
“I’ve been thinking about music differently recently since losing some of my hearing, drawing influence from new places and feeling hyper creative and productive in the process. I’m hoping this tune finds its place not only in the club, but outside of that world too to listeners everywhere.” LEGATO
Either Way is the first single to be released from LEGATO’s forthcoming EP Midnight Rendezvous; a statement EP from an artist ready to take his career to the next level.
