Joy Marquez makes his debut on Steve Lawler’s eVIVE Records label with double header ‘Tenochtitlan / Ohana’.
Mexico City’s finest Joy Marquez is one of the leading lights of Mexico’s electronic music scene. With an extensive touring schedule around the globe, releases have come on Stereo Productions, Nervous and more with his productions led by percussive sounds that leave you Tulum dreaming.
On this release, Marquez presents two songs with the finest percussive touches. The first ‘TENOCHTITLAN’ delivers a sound influenced by Mexican Culture before the conquest in the Nauatl language, drawing influence from and using indigenous instruments such as shells, drums, rain sticks merging these sounds with today’s Afro House sound. On the second track ‘Ohana’, Joy delivers another very percussive focused, very powerful track born out of Afro House style with one goal in mind, getting the listeners moving to his signature sound.
This is the work of a producer who has been perfecting his sound and skills overtime with precision and musical excellence ‘Tenochtitlan / Ohana’ are another fine example of Marquez’s undeniable talent.
