Born and bred New Yorker Jean Pierre is in a fine run of form that now give rise to a mini album, 001, that features nothing but unrelated original tunes and is available now on Bandcamp.

This new collection from the Miami based artist comes on the heels of a fantastic remix on Play It Say It and just as he also puts out a fresh new EP on Moan Records. His high quality and high rate of release is what has helped Pierre shoot to the top of the ranks in recent times. Drawing on 15 years of musical experiences he makes emotion filled house music and big room techno with real heart in labels like Cuttin Headz, Desolat and Hot Creations. Naturally, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers and many more have all been playing his tunes and he has played at all of NYC’s key clubs as well as further afield around Europe, Australia and South America.

001 is a superb six track affair that kicks off with the rolling and rubbery house of Subliminal Frequencies featuring RAWRAW. Then there is the dubbed out loops of 1111, punchy and late night afterparty house in the form of J QQ J and the tense, futuristic acid techno hypnosis that is Save Me. In The Cut gets raw and direct with well swung drums and lo-fi industrial atmospheres and X (O) (O) X closes with mind melting late night minimal that is smooth and seductive.

This is another fine body of work from this most vital American artist.
