Francis Harris’s role in the underground dance music community is one of great value. An artist whose sincerity overflows in his emotive productions and DJ sets, shying away from trending tracks and frivolous gigs, this New Yorker is dedicated to a meaningful music experience above all else-both for himself and the crowd he identifies with. Harris has made great strides with Anthony Collins in the evolution of their family oriented label Scissor & Thread, housing releases from Bob Moses, Black Light Smoke, and the guys themselves under Frank & Tony.
His newest musical venture is a jazz-stained, solemnly soulful full length titled Minutes of Sleep that drips with delicacy and radiates beauty that will tug at your heartstrings. The good people at Thump are streaming the album in its entirety here, unleashed officially February 24th, and in celebration, Harris is hitting the road and we have a feeling his Southern California gigs will stand out significantly.
Sunday the 23rd, he starts off playing the gypsy inspired, sunset fashioned Gypset for its 3rd edition following Francesca Lombardo & Axel Boman. Rooted in respect, privacy and creativity, this is a special event and promises a wonderful musical experience to start your week off on the right foot. Gypset also partners with non profit ‘We Are The Movement,’ providing creative outlets for under-privileged youth, and we know the comforting warehouse and wholesome values will match Harris’s preference for exceptional settings and dedicated crowds.

Thursday the 27th, he will head south to play a 5 hour set downtown at our home away from home El Dorado. These Music is 4 Lovers events are always special, held in an intimate setting with quality sound, drinks and of course the close knit community of music heads that are always spreading the love in San Diego.
