The vocal hook on ELEVEN’s 2nd single is enough to make it an instant earworm among fans of epic afrohouse and afro tech sounds
‘Close’ is the second single from ELEVEN, the new alias of a seasoned French-Swiss producer, landing Friday, 25th April via Calamar Records.
With its powerful vocal hook and unshakeable organic afro groove, ‘Close’ sets itself up nicely for ‘sound of the Summer’ status in the afro house scene. It’s an instant anthem in the making, destined to be dropped by genre heavyweights like Keinemusik, Black Coffee, and Shimza on the world’s biggest stages.
ELEVEN is the new chapter of an anonymous seasoned artist whose musical journey spans continents, cultures, and decades. Born to French and Swiss roots, he grew up between the calm of Switzerland and the vibrant rhythms of Martinique, soaking up everything from Nirvana and U2 to reggae, soca, and salsa. He started DJing at 13, chasing a dream of becoming a DMC champ before discovering electronic music after moving to the UK. Later stints in Spain and Dubai saw him refine his sound across global stages.
In 2024, ELEVEN was launched – a symbolic fresh start and a bold step forward into full artistic expression. In November, he played to 14,000 people alongside Adriatique, Rivo, Yulia Niko, Alex Twin for ADRIATIQUE Presents X in his current hometown of Dubai. (Watch footage HERE). His debut release on Calama Records, a compelling track featuring Kenyan vocalist Winyo entitled ‘KENDO’ marked the beginning of this new era. With the release of ‘Close’, and with many more tracks lined up, plus the launch of his record label, MIDLIFE KRISIS, ELEVEN is now entering a prolific phase, driven by years of experience, refined taste, and a desire to connect more deeply through music.
‘Close’, truly an afro house hit in the making from new artist ELEVEN, drops on Friday, 25th April, via the record label Calamar Records.
