Azzecca – ‘Tell That Boy’ (Higher Ground)

 

Her now 7million+ streamed ‘Other Side’ fully launched Chicago’s Azzecca less than a year ago: just over a year since her debut release on Higher Ground, she’s back with her most requested ID of the year, ‘Tell That Boy’, out now to follow absurdly catchy recent single ‘U Fool’ (a Jack Saunders ‘Next Wave’ pick which also bagged spins from Danny Howard and Kiss playlist support). Less full circle, more a spiral staircase of a career with accolades aplenty on the way up, Azzecca’s techno, house, dark dance combo brings high energy to her passionately but thoughtfully curated sets.

 

‘Tell That Boy’ delivers an in-your-face powerhouse of multiple layers, from melodic subtle synth chords to twanging bass to uplifting 90s-style rattling drum builds, spiced with vocal riffs packed with attitude. Dancefloor fire to keep clubbers warm and winter at bay.
