London-via-Australia DJ/producer Loods has debuted on Diplo’s house/techno label Higher Ground today with “Freedom,” featuring coveted Australian vocalist/songwriter KLP.
The new single is the latest soaring number from Loods, who taps into the raw, rapturous sound of pure house music that has pulsed through the walls of all-night-long parties throughout dance music history. Reflecting the themes of what house music is all about, “Freedom” embodies the cathartic, liberating feeling of getting lost in the music. The lyrics, so joyously brought to life by KLP, really say it all. “This is a wink in the rearview mirror to the wonderfully warm era of house music that I grew up with,” Loods remarks on the track. “I hope you can hear the anemoia we tried to bottle up in this.
