Here, they tap Austin Ato…you may remember him from his blog-house heyday moonlighting as Peaches wing-man under the moniker, Drums Of Death… for their latest 12″ outing by picking up a double header of deep house cuts with a world music bend. With title cut, “Ella,” on the a-side…complete with funky samples, gobs of disco-roto-toms and layers of analogue keys…its a sure-fire winner. Flip it over and you have the subject of our spotlight, “Putting It In My Way,” in both vocal and instrumental versions. Building on a crunchy, afro-inspired percussion groove, “Putting It In My Way” develops over a frenzy of 909 snares before crashing head-long into a deep chords and sternum rattling bass.
