Arkady Antsyrev produces minimalistic house tunes, combining deep-atmospheric soundscapes with electro beats incorporating both synthesisers and live instruments. His new EP for Steve Bug’s Sublease Music, Know That, comprises three tracks, all super deep groovers referencing classic Chicago and New York house sounds while adding his own inimitable spin on things.

With the EP out now, Akady put together a playlist of some of his all-time club favourites.

Earth People – Dance (Club Mix)

I heard this on tape in 99 or 2000 and was amazed that music transcended time and space – it sounded like nothing I had heard.

Barbara Tucker – Beautiful People

I heard it on the same compilation as the first song – one of the definitive house tracks of all time.

Josh Wink – Higher State Of Consciousness (Tweekin Acid Funk)

I spent so much time copying this from tape to tape back in the day!

Future Sound of London – We Have Explosive

This sound impressed me so much, for me is set the benchmark for how true underground music should sound.

Jaydee – Plastic Dreams

A track I still play regularly – a timeless classic.

Da Hool – Meet Her at the Loveparade

Same again for this one!

Orbital – Halcyon

A track that never loses its freshness or relevancy, no matter how many times I hear it.

Azzido da Bass – Doom’s Night (Timo Maas Remix)

Definitely one of my favourites and maybe the best remix ever produced.

Ritmo-Dynamic By Laurent Wolf ‎- Calinda

I think I heard this at my first ever party and it has stayed with me until this day.

Maxi Priest – Close To You

I was probably only five or six years old when I heard this and it still has me in its spell.
