As his SPIL RECORDS imprint edges towards its first anniversary, London-based DJ/producer Jack Swift can safely say that the first three releases on the label have showcased the project’s direction, merging house and garage influences of the past and linking them with fresh ideas for the future. For the fourth instalment, he partners with close friend and Inermu founder James Dexter, who returns to the label following his remix of Swift’s ‘That It Mate’ in November of last year, as the two offer up the first collaborative material on the blossoming imprint and serve up two skippy and driving cuts across their new EP, ‘Switch Up’.

Title cut ‘Switch Up’ is a vibrant yet impactful production that takes after its title as bright vocals and lively synth sprinkles build amongst rumbling low-ends and heavy-hitting kicks for a production that brings moments of bliss and action. Heading into deeper dubby territories, ‘Hyper Extension’ rounds things out in style as hazy chords, warped vocals and glistening electronics float above further heavy bass tones to close the EP.
