First generation Indian-American artist Shuba continues to establish herself as a pop star in waiting on “Nothing To Lose,” a cathartic new single that’s unmistakably her catchiest work to date. Featuring warm, expansive production, Shuba sounds at her most confident and self-assured on the track with vocals that are intensely melodic as she reaches soaring, unforgettable heights. It’s a brilliant evolution from previous 2022 singles “True Colors” and “Icon” that highlights Shuba’s progression as a can’t-miss artist.

Shuba explains her newest “is a song about letting your worries and inhibitions go. We wrote it to feel like a happy song because a lot of times, when breakups happen, people forget about the post-breakup glow-up. It’s a song about owning the messy aftermath of a breakup and being excited about the future and freedom.”

She continues, “I recorded the song in Sweden on a writing trip. It was a super fun session where we all met for the first time and the whole session was just a party. We just kept talking about crazy personal and dating stories and didn’t even realize we got a whole song out of it.”

With influences ranging from Eminem’s acrobatic bars to Ariana Grande’s irresistible hooks, Shuba has arrived at a sound that’s wholly her own. Praised everywhere from Cosmopolitan to Entertainment Tonight while recognized by names like Shakira and Celine Dion, she’s also found singles like “Indian Summer” snagging millions of streams. It’s all a full circle moment for Shuba, from dedicating herself to becoming a singer in the 6th grade, to subsequently jamming out with Brian May of Queen and performing alongside the likes of Train. With overwhelming momentum behind her, from Spotify to the stage and her 5 million followers on TikTok, Shuba is prepared for a breakout 2022 and beyond.
