The duo behind Sportclub’s 33rd Ep met at Watergate. They soon struck up a friendship and musical partnership and now we get two more cuts from the pari that features vocalist Rosa Luxemburg and longtime production talent Asem Shama.
Opener Lust is a dark, driving cut with steamy vocals over rock soldi kicks. Its techno for the big rooms but with real feeling. Us then slips about on great drums and slapping hits, with dehumanised vocals and robotic textures and loops all brings the darkness and energy. Last of all Zoo is a more house-leaning cut with rubber kicks driving forwards and smeared synths bringing the soul. All in all a standout EP.
