Ibiza-based label pumps out this dope tune  ●  Out May 1st

The newest faces to join the illustrious Do Not Sleep imprint are raw talents Caleb Calloway and Vincenzo D’Amico, with their two track EP ‘The Place’. Puerto Rican Caleb expresses a unique sound, combining tropical influences from his native South America with the New York and Chicago tech-house music experienced from his travels, whilst Italian Vincenzo brings flavours of funk and groove to the table. As a collaboration of two diverse producers, their EP represents a melting pot of sounds from multiple inspirations and has already received support through early plays from Marco Carola and Loco Dice.

Opening with the title track, Caleb integrates his signature tropical elements, which are profoundly present in the percussion, with Vincenzo’s contrast of bold yet playful funkin’ vocal sampling, which strut over the cadenced bass line.

The second cut is another punchy original, showcasing a slick percussive line brimming with lively high hats and a rumbling bass. Their unique and varied production style presents us with a dose of groove which is implemented in the main riff, hovering faintly above is a cropped vocal line, a gentle injection of Calloway’s deep-rooted native sound into an otherwise frisky D’Amico tech-house track.
