Mitch DodgeUK producer Benjamin Groove makes his full-length debut on Fortune Signal with the euphoric Natter Natter Natter EP, following a noteworthy remix for the label in early 2024. Set to release on September 20th, 2024, the EP also includes a mainstage-ready remix from frequent UK collaborator and Pomme Frite Records founder Alex Virgo. Following successful releases on Nervous Records, The Basement Discos, True Romance Records, and Shall Not Fade, Benjamin Groove serves up three original tracks that channel a modern take on the house and trance he grew up listening to with his parents in the ’90s.
The title track and opener, “Natter Natter Natter,” gets things started with a bouncy and sun-drenched groove paired with hazy vocal samples that transport listeners to the care-free feelings of summer beach and roof parties. The uplifting “Quicksilver 90” follows with pulsing trance-inspired bass and swirling, shimmering synths as an homage to the legendary DJ Quicksilver. Dialing up the energy and tension on the final original track, “Lockstock” delivers a more rave-ready take on the EP’s influences with booming drums supplying a harder groove, juxtaposed by ethereal flute and percussive melodies.
Alex Virgo’s full-throttle take on “Natter Natter Natter” shows his usual talent, amping up the main melody with blazing synth stabs made for peak-time dancefloor moments. Following popular recent releases on labels like Bordello a Parigi, Shall Not Fade, and his own Pomme Frite, this remix adds to an ever-impressive catalog.
