Masoud Aboughaddareh, owner of LIMA LOUNGE, along with party co-founder and world-renowned DJ Zenbi (Christopher Porter), are pleased and honored to be able to celebrate two years of success of LIMA’s Friday night event – “TEKA Fridays.” The two year anniversary event will be held on Friday, May 3rd, beginning at 10PM.
Co-headlining the night will be Zenbi ( www.zenbi.com ), TEKA co-founder and resident DJ, who has enjoyed a whirlwind year with a string of top ten productions including his most recent releases on major house music labels including Stereo Productions, Great Stuff Recordings, Fat Boy Slim’s label Skint, to name a few.
Zenbi will be supported by Crazibiza ( www.crazibiza.com ), made up of Hungarian house aficionado Tommyboy and fellow countryman Agebeat. This ingenious pairing has had numerous top ten hits on the Beatport Charts, and the TEKA team are extremely excited to have this electrifying DJ duo be a part of the anniversary.
Special to the anniversary festivities, the TEKA team at LIMA are pleased to offer its patrons lots of surprises, giveaways, and special guest appearances during the night. In commemoration of this event, specially made TEKA Two Year Anniversary Limited Edition CDs (Mixed by Zenbi) featuring artists who have played at TEKA over the past two years will be handed out to guests while supplies last, so early attendance is encouraged.
“We look forward to celebrating many more years to come with the finest house music at the area’s premiere nightlife venue,” said Aboughaddareh. “While quite common in this business for programming formats to change and musical styles to come and go, our TEKA party has quickly become the de facto Friday night standard for club goers seeking the best in the area for quality house music.”
TEKA has successfully catered to Washington DC’s diverse, international crowd, by bringing artists from across the globe to headline the party. The resident DJs Zenbi, Miami-based Oscar G, LA-based Sydney Blu, German DJ Duo Plastik Funk, and most recently NYC-based Marcos Carnaval (winner of “Best Brazilian DJ in the international scene in 2012” by DJ Sound Awards (Biggest EDM Award in Latin America), very ably provide the unique soundtrack encompassing Sexy, Funky, Tribal, Tech and Latin-infused House Music that has become synonymous with the TEKA sound.
Highlights of the international DJ talent that have graced the decks over the past two years have included Wally Lopez, Dr. Kucho, Uner, and Mendo from Spain, Marco Carola, Supernova, Pirupa, and Luca Bacchetti from Italy, Paolo Mojo, Filthy Rich and Prok & Fitch from the UK, Funkerman and Miss Nine from the Netherlands, as well as LA-based Trent Cantrelle and Detroit’s EDM Artist of the Year Anthony Attalla; all of whom were carefully hand-picked based on their current production work and touring schedules.
