Panik Pop is a cultured producer with a widescreen sound. He makes music not just for one setting – he can do the dance floor or the home session with equal elan. After years of putting out music on a range of labels here he lands on the Grain Audio outlet with a new full length.

And a fantastic one it is too, with 13 tracks all covering a range of moods and grooves. There are longer dance floor moments with beautiful moments of more personal introspection. A number of guests feature along the way but it is Panik Pop’s own emotive sounds that define the whole album.

Starting with a rather eerie bit of ambient, you are then sung sweet lullabies by Nusja on Still and Buena Casa then gives off more summery vibes with upbeat house grooves. A Faith Instrumental sounds like DJ Koze in playful yet emotive mood with its lazy chords and hip hop beats then Forbidden Desire is a trippy pop cut with languid beats and colourful synths.

Violent later on is a darker, more twisted dance floor tune that adds another layer of style and emotion to an album full of them. This is a work that really does take you on a fantastic trip.
