Interview with Habischman
by SAAND

How did you get mixed up in this crazy world of electronic music?
I’ve always been surrounded by music, recording devices, tape machines & … my dad used to bring different studio gears, mixers, mics, back home and I used to play with these devices in my room, many years later I started listening to the likes of Sasha & Digweed & Global Underground Mix compilations and that was the time I realized that I was very much into this type of music.

Who were some of your biggest influences growing up?
Michael Jackson, Steve lawler, Danny Tenaglia, John Digweed & Sasha I always watched Sasha & Digweed’s Delta Heavy tour videos a lot.

Can you tell us a little about your studio set up?
It’s basically my Macbook pro with Ableton Live. I use a lot of Arturia VST plug ins, they sound very nice and very close to analog synths. I also use Native Instruments Maschine & Pioneer RMX1000 for real effects, and different midi controllers. I have started using the SUB 37 Moog synth which is a monster and I think I’ll be using that more often in my productions + I use Wavs plugins for EQing and mixing.

You already have released on some big labels, any labels that would be a dream for you to be on?
Well I’m quite happy with the labels that I have been working with. I’ve always wanted to do a mix compilation with GU & recently I’ve mixed a 2 CD compilation for Global Underground which I’m very excited about so it’s a dream come true.

Dream remixer for one of your tunes?
Well Dubfire remixed my track with Hot Since 82 -“ which was amazing and it wasn’t planned so I try to go with the flow and see what happens for future tracks.

Top 5 tracks at the moment?
1- Habischman – Skin – The Way – Tim Engelhardt Hybrid Mix
2- Gjone – Shadowdancer (Inxec Remix)
3-Nikola Gala – Komplex 1 (Jansons Remix)
4-Noir-Lumière Sombre (Luca Bacchetti Endless Remix)
5-Moodtrap – Make It Better (Original Mix)

When not listening to electronic music, what do you vibe on?
I use Spotify to listen to different types of music specially indie or Acoustic music it’s the best way to find my balance.

What else do you have planned for 2016?
I have my Global Underground Nubreed Mix world tour and I am also planning to start my own record label, plus I am working on a big project with a couple of friends and we are gonna start a very different concept together, I can’t give details at the moment but t’s gonna be BIG!

Can you tell us about this mix?
I chose some of the latest tracks that I’m feeling at the moment and I’m playing in my sets. I thought it would be nice to put them in the mix, it has a nice flow to it.

Drink of choice…
I like Corona 🙂

CHEERS!
