Veteran Italian duo and lifelong friends Veerus + Maxie Devine have been on a nice little tear lately; with original tracks out on Mark Knight’s imprint Toolroom Trax; Deep Dish’s D.C.-based label, Yoshitoshi Recordings; and two red hot labels, Suara Music and Material Records; the only direction for these two is up!

We’ve been waiting with great anticipation to release Veerus + Maxie Devine’s Lovecast; it’s one-hour of warm techno and driving house music which contains five of their original tracks. Enjoy!

Interview with Veerus + Maxie Devine

Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. Love your work.
Hi guys, it’s a pleasure for us to chat with you.

Where did your guys’ inspiration derive to dive into the world of dance music?
Veerus:
At 15 I went to the club not for girls, but to see how the deejay worked… I think that’s enough.

Maxie: At 16 I saw an Akay 900 in an home studio.. this weird stuff without keys blew my mind away!

How did you first link up to start producing music together?
We met 15 years ago in a record store; Veerus was looking for a good sound engineer and Maxie was looking for new challenges. After 3 days we were in the studio! We have worked for many years under other pseudonyms, then we materialized Veerus + Maxie Devine.

Describe your sound in three words or less…
Sexy, Happy, Evergreen

What do you think is the greatest challenge to overcome in the music business?
Your music must get straight to the heart of the general public. When you succeed, you win!

What advice would you give to an aspiring DJ/producer trying to mark their mark on the world?
Be yourself and have your own sound so you can make a difference on the dancefloor and in the discography.

What’s the horizon in 2016 you’re particularly excited about?
We are always excited every day, not only at the beginning of the year.  We’ve locked ourselves in the studio and threw away the key until May! The summer is at the door; we are waiting for an amazing tour.

What’s one track in your arsenal that destroying dancefloors right now?
A bootleg of a techno 90’s track that we made; we’ll see if we get the deal for release it. Top Secret!

Dream gig…
Space Ibiza closing party 2016

Tell us about your mix…
This may be the first hour set that we would play in a club today, from tech house to techno, always offering our new releases.

Drink of choice…
Vodka & Tonic for both, thanks!

CHEERS!
