Coming in hot as we wrap up the end of 2017… only one more LoveBath mix before we hibernate til the new year! Our penultimate installment is courtesy of the Deep Sense crew from Mexico City. Comprised of DJ/Producers Azok, Sould Out and Rafael Fernandez, the Deep Sense posse has been championing deep and disco sounds from the bevy of exciting talent that emanates from their native homeland. With a hand in throwing parties as well as operating their own record label…the trio have been hard at work spreading the good word of funky sounds and heavy grooves.

They’ve prepared a heater of a mix for us…one that combines their love of disco with modern electronic music. Hop in the tub and crank the volume… Deep Sense is at the helm!

Interview With Deep Sense

Tell us about Deep Sense. Whats it’s history? It’s inspiration? It’s mission? Introduce yourself to our readers.
We—Jose Alvarez (Azok), Juan Vargas (Sould Out) and Rafael Fernandez—started the project 8 years ago with the intention of promoting the disco-house scene in CDMX and the Mexican Republic. Our mission is to make Mexico a reference in electronic music; we focus on promoting the music of great Mexican producers and we actively work as a channel for them to showcase their music to the world.

The Deep Sense Crew has been busy with events and parties as well as operating it’s own record label. Whats next for DSC? Any plans in the works?
Our next party is January 2018 with Satin Jackets. We are planning a few parties after that… our highlight will definitely be the RHA Festival party in CDMX— we have a stellar line up in the works! We also have a few several shows booked around Mexico with gigs in Guadalajara, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Baja Cali, Queretaro and Puebla. Mexico is really flourishing in terms of electronic music and we love to be part of it.

Tell us a bit about the mix you’ve prepared for us here. What can we expect?
We’ve made a mix geared for dancing. We usually go for the deep house goods and we love labels like Heist Recordings and Razor N’ Tape. We also dig edits and anything related to Disco, Funk and Soul. We included tracks of some of our favorites artists and labels and tunes we’ve had success with in our live DJ sets… all killers, no fillers!

Anything else you care to share? Upcoming releases? Shows? This is your chance to plug, plug plug.
We are preparing the last installments of our two compilation series; “Voyage” and “Vanguardia”. We’ve got contributions from the likes of Hotmood, The Funk District and some other cool cats… we’ve been cooking these up for awhile now and will be ready very soon!
