Fast-rising electronic talent Leena Punks has unveiled her new single ‘On The Floor’, out 4th July on Anjuna Rising.
Combining poignant melodies and shimmering breakdowns with a dose of refined rave energy, ‘On The Floor’ is a club track that leaves a lasting impression. It marks Leena’s debut release on the revered Anjuna brand, while she is also set to perform at the label’s Group Therapy Weekender in London this September.
”AnjunaBeats is such an iconic label and to have a track on their Rising imprint is an absolute dream come true. I wrote the main idea for ‘On the Floor’ in two hours – it’s quite an aggressive track that came through an extremely dark moment in my life last fall. I felt that I needed to let go and start everything over in my life – quiet the self-imposed resistance of not truly applying myself on what I was passionate about, which is music production.” Leena explains. “I think this applies to many people when starting on a daunting new path. Everytime I listen back to it I get emotional because it was the first time when I truly let go. I really hope you enjoy it!”
A presenter, DJ, producer and fashion editor, Leena Punks has spent the last ten years DJing across Europe, performing at esteemed venues such as fabric, Ministry of Sound and Egg London. A graduate of Pointblank Music College, she has also dropped a steady stream of music since making her debut with 2020 single ‘Jack Dat Body’, earning the title of ‘One To Watch’ from BBC Introducing in the process. Most recently she dropped a remix of ‘Lost In The Sun’ by Because of Art.
Conveying a natural talent for production, ‘On The Floor’ singles out Leena Punks as an electronic star in the making.
