Get Physical producer Gabe and House Machine duo Tough Art join forces for a robust house release on Repopulate Mars entitled ‘Joker’, featuring a Vintage Culture remix.
Since 2012 São Paulo-based artist Gabe has been on an upward trajectory with his live performances gracing Brazil’s most renowned venues including Warung Beach Club and D-EDGE, not to mention releases on Low Groove and Sublime, not to mention a standout bootleg of LCD Soundsystem that garnered support from the likes of Solomun and HOSH. Teaming up with Tough Art, a duo who’ve released on Solved, Extraklasse and Order, the producers now make their debut appearance on Repopulate Mars.
‘Joker’ opens with sinister tones with recognisable vocal samples sparking in and out of perception, cutting through the bubbling bassline and tight cymbals until ‘Turntable’ then rolls with infectious sub-bass patterns, zappy vocal chops and perky drums.
Next, Spinnin’ Records artist, fellow Brazilian and one of biggest names in South America, Vintage Culture brings in layered hi-hats, slick snares and eutrophic breaks to his remix of ‘Joker’, elevating the energy with subtle synth stabs and fluttering risers.
