Charismatic French duo, Dew declare their debut on Ilario Alicante’s prestigious label, Sound D’Elite. Dew have been lighting up the electronic scene in Lyon this year and show no signs of slowing down. Teaming up with friends and artistic collaborators Cano (FR), Max Mash, and Gousso the Dew duo make their mark on Sound D’Elite with ‘French Kiss’, a feel good summer selection of three playful tracks. Speaking to us about their process, inspirations and upcoming projects, we sat down with them to find out more about their latest release.

Hey, thanks for speaking with us today. How are you both?

Hello Guys, thanks for having us! We’re well.

Your new EP, ‘French Kiss’, features collaborations with Cano, Max Mash and Gousso. What was the process like of working with these artists?

We’re glad to have collaborated with three of our friends on this EP. In terms of process, we did a few studio sessions with Gousso and Cano (FR). The musical connection was made quickly, as we’ve known each other for a long time. With Max, we collaborated at a distance, and our two worlds matched directly.

If you had to describe your new EP using three words, what would they be?

Fresh for vocals and catchy melodies, Naughty for clubs, Energy for groove and bounce.

What would be the perfect setting to listen to ‘French Kiss’?

For us, the EP is made for clubs, for groovers with a summer touch for “All Night Long”

You’ve worked with Franky Rizardo’s LTF Records and now Ilario Alicante’s Sound D’Elite imprint, what labels would you like to work with in the future?

It’s an important step to have worked with Franky and Ilario because they’re emblematic artist for us. For the future we would like to work with the label’s of TMB, Jamie Jones or Michael Bibi.

Let’s rewind a little, if you had to pick one track each that sparked your musical journeys what would it be?

« Michael Jackson – Baby Be Mine » and « Chez Damier – Can You Feel It (MK New York Dub) » on Repeat forever.

Who are some French DJs or producers that are worth keeping an eye on right now?

All the people we’ve worked with in France in recent years are talented producers. Moreover, Llinares and Simon Erar are two friends with a lot of talent.

We’re only halfway through the year but out of the sets you’ve done so far, has there been a standout? If so, why?

We’re proud to release this EP on Ilario Alicante’s label and to have his support on our tracks. It’s a great opportunity this year, and the best is yet to come.

What are you guys working on right now, anything you can share with us?

Lots of music coming soon, including two tracks with Da Night duo on Bassel Darwish’s Distance label next month. Other collaboration will follow with artists such as Gaby (FR), Triptyque and Cano (FR), who we can’t wait to introduce to you. We’re looking forward to performing at clubs and festivals this summer, to showcase our new tracks. Notably at the “Dimancherie” in August with Triptyque.
