Hey Martin! It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How has 2023 been for you so far?

2023 has been a whirlwind so far did Ocaso in the beginning of the year with Solomun,Dixon,Michael Bibi, and Bob Moses. Just wrapping up a mini tour which included Love Burn for Incendia(Miami),Lost Beach/Lost City (Ecuador),Friendship for AMF,Bohemian (Costa Rica),and ending at SXM Festival in ST Martin. On the Production front A new release on Sublevel by Jordon Strong Featuring a Audiojack Rmx. Blakatt ,and I have a single on Bushwacka’s Oblong Label available both on vinyl ,and download.A record with Lonely C from(Soulclap) on house of E-Funk ,and  A release with Sacha Robotti, and JTJ on Sloth Acid,A rmx  for Wesley Holmes, and Lar Gibbons on Uniting Souls Music, and of course the rmx for Superfreq for David Scuba called Hit me!!! So it’s been extremely busy on the road, and studio so far this year!

Congrats on your latest remix for David Scuba’s «Hit Me» on Superfreq. What was your experience working on this remix?

David, and I have been friends for a while.I had played for Superfreq in LA,NYC,and London. So it was a natural progression to do something for the label. On the Hit me rmx the original was solid, and Leon’s rmx was great. So I tried to do something a little different from their mixes.i wanted to do something funky, but along the lines of something that I would play.

So I got out some hardware, and here we are!

You are headed to SXM Festival 2023 this week. Can you tell us more about the records you got prepared for this occasion?

I did the first SXM,and had a blast!!! Their curation is always on point. I’m playing the closing party with Dubfire, and Demi Riquisimo. So I’ve got an arsenal of fresh, and unreleased cuts for this event. I’m very excited to have been included on this line-up

What are some musical influences that you believe have shaped your sound?

I’ve always have been into all kinds of music. Funk,Disco,New Wave,Hip hop, reaggae . A lot of underground music from Europe. I would say Kraftwerk,Bob Marley,Public Enemy and beyond!!!

Can you name some of the instruments or plugins that you believe define your sound?

I would say the SE-1 rackmount for super fat bass, and weird key sounds. I’ve had lots of success with the Arturia Plug ins. I like the way you can rewire the keyboard sounds. Also theAkai MPC X Which you can do everything in including live shows, and I was fortunate to have it fully loaded with more samples than I could ever use!

Where can people expect to see you perform live next?

Coming up is Get Lost for Miami Music Week,Love in Space in LA April 1st,Love Machine,Smartbar Chicago, and a European tour this summer

Now that the remix for «Hit Me» is out, what is next for Doc Martin?

I will be finishing a collab w/ Oona Dahl for Selador records. I Just finished a record with Colette, and Pete Moss. An upcoming project with Blakatt for Sublevel, A remix of a Yousef song for Circus recordings.  I’ve been working on a  top secret project with a well known singer, that I can’t let out of the bag yet : )

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer our questions, is there anything else you would like to mention before we go?

We are also working on new gear for the Sublevel clothing line, after our collab w/ Stussy. I also want to thank all the dancers!!! Without you there is no us!
