Welcome! What’s good and bad in your world?

Hello, in my world everything is fine, although I’m more worried about the overall development of our world, it’s getting crazier every year.

How much does your home town/city/country, the people, the landscape, the culture, the weather inspire your own sound?

I live in a nice area but that doesn’t have any influence on the inspiration for my sound. My inspiration is coming more from traveling or visiting events and listening to music and other DJ sets.

What was in your mind when making your new tune for the Poesie label? What did you want to bring to it?

Since I fell in love with the melodic techno genre, I’m playing around a lot with new sounds etc, so for this track I was aiming to create an emotional breakdown and keep it very musical and then building a cool track around it. I also found a cool singer with a unique voice who’s been a great fit for the track. I’m very pleased that this track got signed by Poesie and hope to be able to do more tracks with that great label.

How much do you call on your classical music training?

For me as classical music composer it’s super exciting to adventure and discover all these electronic sounds, I enjoy melodic techno because in this genre I’m able to combine the atmosphere and mood of my orchestral music background and then combine it with deep cool grooves and electronic sound design.

Why do you love melody in your tune so much? What is the aim of them?

I think that coming from the classical orchestral music world where it’s all about creating emotion through melodies, to keep my music melodic is just a natural progression, music is all about emotion, so even in the melodic techno world I would like to awake emotions to people when they would listen to my tracks.

Do you make the tunes you want to play in your own sets, is there a direct link like that?

Actually I have not started to play real DJ live sets yet, that’s hopefully something I’d be able to start doing next year after I had more music releases but yes, my goal and vision would be to play my tunes in my DJ sets, maybe even as a live performance with keyboards etc.

What are some key tools in your studio? What bits of gear or software do you love right now and why?

I’m using Logic X as DAW, my main synths are DIVA, everything from Arturia and Native Instruments, Omnisphere. I’m working with Logic since many years, so I guess I’m just used with that workflow.

What else have you got coming up/are you working on?

At the moment I’m working and experimenting on a lot of new tracks, I’m trying play around with all the different directions within the genre, since everything is still kinda new to me I just enjoy playing around with sounds, also working with a few amazing singers on a few vocal tracks but also try to keep a few tracks more minimal.

What advice would you give yourself as a young artist that you have learnt since you started?

I think the best advice I got from my management, who told me to experiment and try to find my own sound and especially to create tracks which I would be excited about to play for an audience in DJ/Live sets and to be consistent on delivering new tracks to be able to have a solid release flow and build up my profile.
