Husky teams up once again with vocalist Shyam P to deliver ‘Rey Dreamin’’, a slick, soulful cut with remixes from Peter Brown, Cater and LJ Hawk.
With a long-standing resume befitting a house music aficionado, Sydney’s Husky has been a consistent champion of uplifting, vocal-led house music for the majority of his career. From remixing Frankie Knuckles to collaborating with Sandy Rivera, he’s worked alongside some of the best in the game and has a knack for working with incredibly talented singers and songwriters.
Husky has previously collaborated with Shyam P on stellar cuts like ‘Lost Without U’ and ‘Secrets’, and ‘Rey Dreamin’’ is another soulful cut from the top drawer.
Kicking off the package is the Extended Classic Mix which is everything you’d expect from the pairing of producer and singer: Husky’s warm, rising chords and life-affirming grooves beautifully completed with a soaring vocal from Shyam P. Spain’s Peter Brown’s remix is a little chunkier, with harder hitting beats and more drum fills, but preserving much of the delicateness of the original.
Carter adds a little bounce and shuffle to proceedings, with urgent synth stabs and a shuffling groove breathing a new energy into his version of ‘Rey Dreamin’’, before LJ Hawk’s refix goes deep and dreamy with washes of vocal and a truly stunning breakdown.
