Over the last decade, Miami-born artist Fat Nick has been a staple in the hip-hop industry, and this year, he has decided it is time to switch gears. After the recent release of his pop-punk debut, “Songs On The Radio,” Nick equips his thrilling shift in sound with a charming music video to match. Featuring grainy vintage footage that harkens back to the genre’s heyday, Nick’s charisma helps him seamlessly shift from rapper to rock frontman. The carefree, intimate aesthetic of the visuals echoes his desire to make music with feeling and offers a more honest side of himself to listeners. It all signifies an exciting artistic shift for Nick that’s just beginning.

“Songs On The Radio” conveys a timeless sound that has been a staple across the pop-punk genre over the last few decades. Despite the jovial guitar riffs and high-energy melody – the heartfelt lyrics sing about a love that was lost, with “Can’t take you back I’m f***ed up about you”. The instrumentation proves equally masterful with classic electric guitar and drum solos, layered with electronic synth hits, that result in a catchy rock tune that is hard to forget.

Fat Nick says on the single, “This is all about vulnerability – I really believe that sometimes vulnerability can be your best asset. A lot of the lyrics are based on heartbreak, but the most beautiful things are the ones you find in the darkest of times. I was in the most creative mindset I’ve ever been in when writing this, and everything just fell into place.”

In 2014, Fat Nick, also known as Nicky Gordo or Mr. Young Rich and Handsome, showcased his first body of work to the world with the release of “Tha Heart Attack”. This project featured Pouya and Germ and has gone on to accumulate millions of streams just on Soundcloud alone. Through the course of Nick’s career, he has released 6 whole bodies of works, and dozens of singles, with collaborations featuring the late Lil Peep, Shoreline Mafia’s OhGeesy, blackbear, $uicideboy$, Sir Michael Rocks, Riff Raff, Ramirez, and more. His discography has taken Fat Nick on multiple tours across the United States with the late Lil Peep & Smokepurpp (2016), Pouya (2017), Bexey & DJ Scheme (2018), Shakewell (2019) & more, and his presence has graced the Rolling Loud stage for every one of their festivals since the beginning. He also has taken on the main stage at festivals including Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash in Chicago, Riot Festival in Denver, Day N Vegas Festival, and more.

“Songs On The Radio” is the very start of a brand-new chapter in Fat Nick’s career – stay tuned for more music drops in the coming months.
