Having produced some stellar jams for labels like Somethink Sounds, and Giles Peterson’s Brownswood, Eliphino AKA Tom Wrankmore, debuts for Hypercolour this Autumn, opening up the label’s new term with this solid two track release. “I Don’t Care” opens the account, all chopped up RnB vox and rolling beats, wrapped up in a super smooth melody. Already road tested by the Hypercolour firm over the last few months, this deep garage vibe hits the sweet spot for sure On the flip, ‘Understand’ further plunders Eliphino’s love of rugged garage beats and an ear for a catchy hook. A feverish interplay of vocal chops, keys and organ stabs keeps up the ante, with some decidedly trancey synth parts ramping up the 90s house influences here, and once again a cut that most definitely brings the heat to the dance floor.
