Having achieved success with their previous collaborations, including I Need Someone, Touch and Inside on Toolroom and Just Look on Nervous Records, Mike Ivy and DJ Gomi started writing Elevate but felt something was missing, so Gomi had the idea of bringing in Karmina Dai to sing.
