For their 45th release, Dixon and Âme’s incomparable Innervisions introduces Michael Gracioppo to the roster. With releases on Exploited, 8Bit and Motor City Drum Ensemble’s MCDE Recordings already under his belt, the Montreal-based producer is no newcomer to the game. The stunning single, Creep, features Wayne Tennant on vocals, and flawlessly fits the emotionally-charged sound emblematic of the imprint.

The moody tune opens with the sound of crackling, like those anticipatory moments after the needle first comes in contact with the record. Warm pads briefly fill the air, as metrical ticks and an understated drumbeat kick in. Tennant’s compellingly hollow voice bursts in over a deep, detached bassline. He sings with an echoey eloquence that smoothly skims across the song. Creep is an intensely nostalgic number; it is stunningly simplistic, yet effectively expressive.
