ContirbutorHi guys great to have the chance to speak with you today. First of all congratulations on your release Sweet Dreams. What pulled you towards working on such a influential top line?
Thanks for having us. We always love to bring classic into our sets either mashups or new covers with our own production, we are always thinking about what will make the crown go crazy. We had this one in mind for a while.
How would you best describe your sound to listeners out there who are yet to hear it?
We are very versatile progressive producers/DJs, we love a lot of different styles, but for this particular song we wanted to keep the original vibe, dark and melancholic, and at the same time have people go crazy in the club when they hear it.
You both have successful solo projects alongside the Avenue One collective, how does this sound differ to your own?
Well… we can say that we HAD solo projects because now, it’s all about Avenue One. Before we were more trancy, and now we think we created a sound proper to Avenue One. Techy, Melodic, Progressive, Housy. We like to think we adapted to the current tendency, and we are always evolving and adapting, we are listening to what is going on, but we love the music we are doing, so it’s not that different than before. Our tastes changed and so did our music.
What was the creative process like when working on Sweet Dreams? Do you each take on separate roles within the studio?
Petr originally started something with the original vocals and I had the idea to record Jaren singing the original lyrics. We then had the chance to sit together in Czech Republic to create the epic drop and finish the song together. Every element in the song came so easily with both working in symbiosis – it was an epic collaboration!
Have you had a chance to test it out on the road yet? How was the response?
Yes we played it at every party in the last few months, and the response has been insane! People love the lyrics, and at the drop people just can’t stay in one place.
Summer is just around the corner, where can we catch you playing over the coming months?
We have a few gigs lined up! Montreal, some in Europe and also a big festival TBA.
What do you have lined up release wise following Sweet Dreams?
Right now we have 8 songs coming out on various labels, the best is yet to come!
Finally, what has been your tune of 2023 so far?
Well….. that is the hardest question.. Sweet Dreams is our song right now.
But from others, we have some really nice songs that you will have to hear when you see us playing!
